It’s not irrational to dismiss claims made by intelligence officials. Over the years and decades, they have lied about WMD in Iraq, domestic surveillance, torture, rendition, Iran-Contra, hiring Nazi scientists, testing LSD on unwitting victims, and their support for a broad array of dictators, death squads, terrorists, and drug cartels throughout the world. Trump clearly isn’t a rational person; he’s dismissing the intelligence community for political reasons and egocentrism. But to suggest that the FBI and CIA suddenly have “integrity” is naive at best.
